Hey there. I’m Hayley – a dog-loving, recycling, Charlottean since 1996. Before then, I was a ‘Georgia Peach’. You won’t hear a Southern drawl out of me, but I’m a Carolina girl, for sure (Class of ’08). My husband, Chris, and I married in September, so I understand exactly what my brides are experiencing!
What you might not know, given my naturally social profession, is that I am a proud introvert. I realized my inner strength when at 20, I left the U.S. For the first time (also alone), and traveled over 24 lonely hours to New Zealand. There, I traveled the south island for a week and then flew to Australia to study for three months. While I was there, I took many trips by myself, not wanting to be held back by another, and I even took myself skydiving on my 21st birthday. I still look back on those times and feel incredibly strengthened by my introverted accomplishments.
As a photographer, I’m an easy-going storyteller with a sharp eye for details and emotional moments. I’ve come to recognize that my strengths lie first in capturing emotions. From smiles to tears, I excel at anticipating the moment and catching it before it’s gone. I also really enjoy playing with lighting at receptions to make even the smallest dance party look interesting. Overall, I love the challenge of making a wedding day look even more amazing in photos than my couples remember.
I want to really get to know families and couples. Many of my couples become clients for life, so it’s important that we “get each other.” I also have a love for non-traditional couples. Second marriage? Third marriage? Kids? No judgement here! I’m just happy you’re happy.
My work has been featured on many blogs, such as Borrowed & Blue, The Knot, Every Last Detail and more.
One of my favorite indulgences is Not Just Coffee’s caramel latte, so let’s get one together and make beautiful photos!
