Wedding Vendors I Love

Couples often inquire with me just after they book their venue, so naturally, I want to guide them in choosing their other vendors. Not only do I want to make sure my couples are getting the best they can afford, but I like working with vendors I have established a working relationship with so that everything flows smoothly on the wedding day. Here are my personal recommendations in the Charlotte, NC area:

+ Sara Mathis, Sara Mathis Productions

Why you’d love her: I’ve known Sara since college and she has always been very organized. She is lightning fast with her turnaround time and easy to communicate with. Sara also films with her husband, Taylor, who is a food photographer. Together, you’ve got a strong team with a background in film production & photography. Check out her portfolio here.

+ Brian Bunn, Brian Bunn Films

Why you’d love him: I love Brian because he is not only talented, but a truly nice guy. He is easy to work with and communicates well with photographers so we don’t get in each other’s way, ensuring the best product for our couples. I am always thrilled when I learn that a couple has chosen to work with Brian. Check out his portfolio here.

Hair + Makeup Artists

+ Lindsey Thorne, Be Pretty

Why you’d love her: Lindsey is the peppy, cute sister you always wanted. She specializes in high fashion as well as simple, natural and classic looks. I love working with Lindsey! She is sweet as pie! Check out her website and follow her on Instagram for pics of her bridal beauties.

+ Kymm McLean, Who’s the Fairest

Why you’d love her: Kymm is one of a kind. She has the most interesting life stories to tell, has several dogs including the crazy SpOOkie and is always helping others in need. Kymm has actually done my own makeup and part of the experience is just sitting in her chair chatting it up! Check out her artistry from this lakeside wedding.

Cake Artist/Bakers

+ Mandie Miller, Got What it Cakes

Why you’d love her: Want to know what Heaven tastes like? Try her signature “Cruffle Pops” (I prefer chocolate). In Mandie’s words, “They’re our version of a ‘cake pop.’ Ours are all cake, no fillers, and are twice baked to make them taste more like a donut hole dipped in chocolate, instead of a gooey/raw taste that some people find a cake pop to be like.  More affordable and fun than traditional wedding cakes, they’re $2 each in store, or 3/$5, 6/$10, 12/$20 and so on!” Trust me on this one. Cruffle Pops are where it’s at.

+ Anna Passarelli, Simply Elegant Floral Designs (Raleigh)

Why you’d love her: Anna is a horticulturist turned florist, so she knows her stuff – including how to make an entire room smell like a garden. I was seriously blown away by how fragrant her roses were at a recent wedding. I may or may not have stuck my face in a centerpiece. If your wedding is in the Raleigh area, definitely inquire with her!

+ Kat Bruce, Best Day Ever Studios

Why you’d love her: Not only is Kat cute as a button, she’s a recent bride herself. Of course, she planned a gorgeous wedding for herself in under 6 months! In addition, she’s planned over 400 weddings and events in her career, so I have no doubt you’ll be in good hands. Check out a couple of the events we’ve collaborated on here and here.

+ Kelly Martin, Head Over Heels

Why you’d love her: Kelly is an incredible planner! She planned this fabulous wedding in just 53 days! Before becoming a planner, Kelly actually received her Master’s degree in professional counseling – an education that has certainly prepared her to work with any bridal meltdown or in-law situation that comes her way! Check out her sweet family that I photographed last year.

+ Split Second Sound

Why you’d love them: Split Second Sound’s team of DJs are highly educated and experienced. I have worked with their DJs at countless weddings and events. Depending on the package you choose, you can hire a DJ and a party motivator to rally the guests, teach them the dances and keep the party going non-stop. What makes them stand out in my book is how well they communicate with your other vendors. Unfortunately, some DJs work to their own tune and don’t forewarn us that they’re about to announce the cake cutting or other important event, resulting in us scrambling to get the shots. I never worry about this situation with Split Second Sound!

[My vendor list is never truly complete. I will continually update this list as I work with vendors I’d love to recommend!]

  • Sara & Taylor, Charlotte NC Wedding Videographers » Charlotte North Carolina Wedding Photographer - […] I’ve sung their praises before, but I have to tell you again how wonderful it is to know Sara & Taylor. I actually met Sara when we lived on the same hall in Granville Towers at UNC Chapel Hill. She has experience as a broadcaster for ESPN, a realtor and now a wedding videographer. It’s safe to say she is an excellent communicator! And, Taylor is a food & lifestyle photographer and author who has even published a tailgating cookbook! […]ReplyCancel
